Tobias Rehberger's bridge sculpture on the Rhine-Herne Canal at Schloss Oberhausen
Eight weeks have passed since the EMSCHERKUNST.2010 event " artist on location - Walking with artists and curators "at the under construction, pedestrian and cycle bridge" Slinky springs to fame "passed. Unfortunately there are no webcam as in the Küppersmühle in Duisburg or on NT2 in Gelsenkirchen, with which one could follow the process. In the meantime, one can speak of that is actually a bridge over the Rhine-Herne Canal, because the straps of the concrete panels were installed, which will form the running surface of the bridge.
Well still have the connections the bridge ramps made to the strap design, then the bridge is actually walked the entire length of 406 meters. At the bridge ramp on the south side of the Rhine-Herne Canal has also begun to mount the coils of the style similar to the metal coil spring Slinky ® spiral. To complete installation of all 460 turns of the coil made of aluminum - also on the Rhine-Herne Canal - there are probably still take some time.
The conspicuous Culture Buoy in the immediate vicinity is currently completely closed for renovation, "Gasometer pure" so it will not. From 8 April to 30 December 2011 shown in the gasometer, the exhibition "Magical Places", the grandest and most moving places of worship of nature and human development will have on the subject.

Update
Even if the winter is not over, the mild temperatures make it back to work now, and so also on the completion of the bridge over sculpture the Rhine-Herne Canal at Schloss Oberhausen continue.
At first glance you can immediately see that now many turns of style similar to the metal coil spring Slinky ® spiral of bridge ramp on the south side of the Rhine-Herne Canal have been mounted. Only on second glance it is striking that the terminals of the bridge ramps are made to the strap design. At present the painter with the painting of the underside of the concrete ramps are employed at the connections.

In the meantime the spring taken hold, at least from a meteorological perspective, but as in nature, seen previously only snowdrops and crocuses, so does the progress of the past four weeks seem a completion of the bridge sculpture still in the distant future.
on the strap construction now, the preparations for the assembly of the Metal coil spring Slinky ® taken leaning against the spiral.
Meanwhile, the turns of the coil at the bridge ramp on the south side of the Rhine-Herne Canal mounted entirely, on the north side of the channel on the spiral, however, since the EMSCHERKUNST.2010 event " artist on location - Walking with artists and curators in November 2010 nothing changed.
